Our mission is to enhance the professional development of financial aid administrators.

Welcome from Mendy!

As a new decade begins and we usher in 2020, the SWASFAA Board of Directors is looking forward to a phenomenal year in which we are looking closely at existing member benefits, but also at new and innovative ways to meet the needs of our members. Our Strategic Long Range Plan expires in 2021, which makes 2020 the perfect time to focus the direction SWASFAA needs to head in to be as relevant and valuable to its members as possible.

The Board is comprised of enthusiastic and energetic financial aid administrators who have a passion for serving our students and colleagues in ways that benefit those we serve. We look forward to online and in-person training opportunities and times to share best practices, to build new levels of partnerships with our state associations, to offer our best Boot Camp and Conference in years, and to engage the membership in volunteer opportunities. Boot Camp and the Annual Conference November 2nd – 6th in Albuquerque, New Mexico is just one of the events to put on your calendar.

The theme of the entire year is SWASFAA Focus 2020; Agents of Change. I believe ours is a noble profession, but sometimes financial aid administrators need to be reminded of why we are doing what we do. We are making critical differences in the lives of our students and families, but that can be easy to lose sight of and I want to find ways to remind you of all the positive change you are creating.
