We’re Rollin’ with the Times through a great year for our association!

We have several important events coming up quickly. The Boot Camp and Conference Committees are putting together outstanding training functions. You should plan now to attend these, which will be held at the Peabody Hotel Little Rock the week of November 17th. Full details will be posted shortly here on our web site.

Decentralized Training is coming soon. NASFAA has selected “Student Eligibility Issues” and the topic for this fall’s training series. Ed Schroeder and his committee will be attending the Training for Trainers in Washington, D.C. soon. Sites have been selected for most of our states. Watch for information on this to be posted on our web calendar.

The Long Range Planning Committee and Membership Committee have been reviewing our membership structure closely this year. They are poised to present to you some proposals for a vote later this year on substantial structural changes. It is their hope that the discussions of these proposals will solidify the question of membership type for years to come. Many details will be given to you during the next two months on this with a vote expected in early December.

The SWASFAA/SASFAA Mid-Level Workshop was an outstanding success this summer. I commend Linda Neel and Greg Thornburg for their excellent preparation in making this a rewarding event for the participants and our association. Planning is already underway for next summer’s training program to be hosted in SASFAA.

I am excited to see so much productive work being accomplished by SWASFAA. Be a part of it all! Attend the Decentralized Training, Boot Camp and Conference. Come experience the strength of our regional financial aid association.
